Digital Asset Intelligence

Follow the blockchain. Find the connections.

Hydra combines blockchain analytics, wallet intelligence, AML technology and human investigation to investigate digital-asset activity and identify relationships, risks and potential avenues for action.

Overview

The ledger is a record. It is not an answer.

Every transaction on a public blockchain can be seen. Very few of them say who was involved, why the funds moved or what can now be done about it.

Analytics software is good at showing where value went. It is far weaker at saying who received it. A wallet address is a string of characters, not a person, and a cluster of addresses is still not a name. Hydra's work begins where the software stops. Analysts attribute wallets to the entities behind them, connect on-chain activity to real-world people, companies and exchanges, and build a picture of the relationships that the ledger alone cannot show.

That picture is assembled from several directions at once. On-chain, analysts trace and cluster wallets, screen counterparties and map the flow of funds across services and chains. Off-chain, investigators test what the data suggests through open-source research, corporate registries, licensed data and direct human enquiry. Where a finding matters to the outcome, it is verified in the field. The result is an evidence-grade account of what happened, who was involved and which avenues for action are open.

All of this is done lawfully and proportionately, from public blockchain data, licensed analytics platforms, lawfully obtained records and human enquiry. Hydra distinguishes verified official records from allegations, rumours and unverified online information, and the availability of records varies by jurisdiction. Findings are documented so that they can be relied on by legal counsel, compliance teams and, where appropriate, law enforcement.

Capabilities

From the ledger to the people behind it.

Blockchain Investigations

The analytical core of the division. Hydra follows value across wallets, services and chains, then attributes the addresses involved to the exchanges, businesses and individuals behind them.

  • 01Transaction analysis
  • 02Wallet tracing
  • 03Wallet clustering
  • 04Cross-chain analysis
  • 05Entity attribution
  • 06Transaction mapping

Wallet Intelligence

Who controls an address, what it has touched and what that exposure means for you. Used before funds are accepted, during a dispute and after an incident.

  • 01Wallet KYC
  • 02Wallet screening
  • 03Wallet risk assessment
  • 04Exposure analysis
  • 05Counterparty identification

Crypto Fraud & Scam Investigations

For individuals and organisations who have lost funds to deception. Hydra establishes how the scheme operated, where the assets went and who stands behind the platforms, personas and wallets involved.

  • 02Crypto scams
  • 03Fake investment platforms
  • 04Fake exchanges
  • 05Wallet-draining incidents
  • 06Online investment fraud

AML & Compliance Intelligence

Screening, monitoring and risk assessment for exchanges, virtual asset service providers and compliance functions that need defensible answers on customers, wallets and transactions. Analysts review the flags that matter before anything is reported. Broader subject and organisation intelligence sits under Intelligence.

  • 02Transaction monitoring
  • 03Sanctions screening
  • 04Risk scoring
  • 05KYC and KYB
  • 06Enhanced due diligence
  • 07Suspicious activity analysis

Digital Asset Due Diligence

An investigative assessment made for a decision: an investment, a partnership, a listing or a new counterparty. Hydra examines the project, the people and the money together, and separates verified records from claims. For assessments outside digital assets, see Due Diligence.

  • 01Crypto companies
  • 02Web3 projects
  • 03Founders
  • 04Counterparties
  • 05Wallet exposure
  • 06Token and project intelligence
  • 07Reputation
  • 08Compliance risk

Crypto Incident Response

When a wallet is compromised or assets leave without authorisation, the first hours matter. Hydra preserves the evidence, traces the movement and coordinates the response with the parties able to act.

  • 01Compromised wallets
  • 02Stolen assets
  • 03Unauthorised transactions
  • 04Exchange incidents
  • 05Evidence preservation
  • 06Investigation coordination

Investigation and Recovery Support

Hydra identifies the routes that are open in your circumstances, prepares the material each of them requires and supports your advisers while they are pursued.

  • 01Tracing to exchanges and servicesFollowing assets to regulated platforms where an identifiable party holds them and can be approached.
  • 02Evidence packagesDocumented findings, prepared to the standard that law enforcement and legal counsel require.
  • 03Freeze and disclosure requestsLawful requests made through the appropriate channels, supported by the evidence needed to justify them.
  • 04Civil remediesAnalysis and documentation that your advisers can use to pursue claims, injunctions and orders through the courts.
  • 05Wallet monitoringWatching identified addresses for movement while requests and proceedings are under way.
On recovery

Hydra investigates the movement of digital assets and identifies realistic avenues for intervention or recovery. Recovery cannot be guaranteed and depends on the circumstances, counterparties, jurisdiction and available legal or operational remedies.

Where no workable avenue exists, the assessment says so plainly, before further cost is incurred.

Who this is for

For the people who have to act on the answer.

The same discipline serves a private individual who has lost their savings and a compliance team that has to defend a decision to a regulator. What changes is the question, not the standard of the work.

  • 01Victims of crypto fraudIndividuals and businesses who have sent funds to a scheme, a fake platform or a compromised wallet, and need to know what happened and what can be done.
  • 02Exchanges and VASPsVirtual asset service providers that need wallet screening, incident investigation and independent findings they can put in front of a regulator.
  • 03Compliance teamsAML, sanctions and risk functions that need enhanced due diligence and suspicious activity analysis beyond what automated tools provide.
  • 04Law firmsCounsel pursuing tracing, freezing orders, disclosure or civil claims who need evidence-grade findings and an investigator able to explain them.
  • 05Investors and fundsAllocators assessing a token, a project or a counterparty before capital is committed, or examining one after something has gone wrong.
  • 06Web3 projectsFounders and teams verifying partners, examining treasury exposure or responding to an exploit or an unauthorised transfer.
